On the occasion of Energy Conservation Day, students from Classes 5 to 8 came together to learn, express, and pledge their commitment to a more sustainable future. Organized by Lead4Change Foundation, the event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of saving energy and reducing our carbon footprint.
- The day began with an engaging session on the basics of energy, what it is, why it’s important, and how small actions can make a big difference. Students learned:
- Interactive Session on Energy Conservation
- The impact of wasted electricity and excessive use of appliances
- Simple ways to conserve energy at home and school
- How conserving energy helps reduce pollution and combat climate change
Through stories, videos, and real-life examples, the students were encouraged to think about how they could make a difference from switching off fans and lights when not in use to choosing to walk or cycle for short distances.
One of the highlights of the session was a discussion on each student’s Energy Hero Moment where they shared small actions, they’ve taken at home to save energy.
Poster Exhibition: Creativity for a Cause
After the session, students participated in a vibrant Poster Exhibition based on the theme:
Save Energy, Save the Planet

Armed with colours, paper, and powerful messages, students expressed their thoughts visually. From pictures of Earth surrounded by green energy symbols to messages like “Be Bright – Turn Off the Light”, the posters reflected their understanding and commitment to the cause. The exhibition not only showcased creativity but also inspired conversations among students, teachers, and visitors about the role each person plays in conserving energy.
Key message:
- Every switch turned off is a step toward saving the planet
- Children have the power to influence households and communities
- Creativity can spark change

As a follow-up, the school will be launching a Switch-Off Campaign, encouraging students to take charge of monitoring electricity usage at home for one week and report their impact.
We believe that awareness sown early leads to habits that last a lifetime. Here’s to raising a generation of energy-conscious citizens.
